Chapter 14: Future Management
This chapter examines numerous options for addressing the hydrological issues at Perry Lakes. Many are applicable to the Perth metropolitan area and beyond. Given the fact that decreasing rainfall is a present fact and future expectation, the key issue is largely one of reducing groundwater extraction. Issues addressed include bore licensing, public education, urban design and planning, and engineered solutions such as the use of tertiary treated waste water.
