Provides a general introduction to Perry Lakes and introduces the key concepts of lake-aquifer interaction. If you are not familiar with how water table lakes interact with the surrounding unconfined aquifer Section 1.5 provides a brief introduction. Chapter 1 also provides an outline of the thesis structure. Regardless of which sections of the thesis may interest you, Section 1.6 (and Figure 1.3) are recommended reading as they provided a concise outline of the research philosophy behind the project and a map of the thesis structure.
